Its textured “cubed” surface means nooks and crannies that hold anything you coat it with—seasonings, breading or marinades—particularly well, giving you super-tasty results.

 

Bonus Tips:

  • To further tenderize the cube steaks, you can marinate them in milk or buttermilk for 30 minutes to an hour before cooking.
  • If you don't have cube steaks, you can use thin-sliced flank steak or skirt steak.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan when cooking the cube steaks. This will prevent them from browning evenly.
  • Be sure to let the cooked cube steaks rest for a few minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
